Sevastopol has approved a regional program to support and promote local brands and manufacturers. The corresponding decision was made on November, 3, at the meeting of the Government of the city chaired by Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev.
According to Alexey Popov, the Acting Director of the Department of Economic Development, a crucial task will involve establishing and promoting the regional brand “Made in Sevastopol” to bring together the city’s manufacturers. The launch of the local brand is scheduled for 2024.
The program includes creating a special product (microloan) for local producers with a lower interest rate, helping them certify their goods, offering services for trademark registration, and promoting their products on marketplaces. Moreover, there are plans to support winemaking brands through the Terroir Sevastopol project and develop the fishery cluster.
“We already have a number of support measures for small and medium-sized businesses in Sevastopol. The launch of a regional brand will help us promote the products of local producers in domestic and foreign markets”, emphasized Mikhail Razvozhayev.
The regional program was created in response to the Russian President’s instructions after the Strong Ideas for New Times plenary forum.
