Over 480,000 tourists visited Sevastopol in 2022

Based on data from the specialized department, the figure is nearly 200,000 lower than last year, but tax income has increased.

In 2022, the region’s budget received an additional funding of over 500 thousand rubles, thanks to the support from the federal government. This information was shared by Larisa Ostapenko, the head of the Tourism Department of Sevastopol. Today, she presented a report on the accomplishments during a plenary session at the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol.

“Additionally, there are tourist information centers in Sevastopol to provide guests and locals with details about the area’s attractions. In 2022, our stationary tourist information centers provided approximately 60,000 consultations. In the same year, there was a decline in the number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the city. However, our tourism industry experienced notable growth. Specifically, there was a 4.7% increase in the number of small businesses in the hotel sector and a 1.7% increase in public catering”, stated Larisa Ostapenko, the head of the Tourism Department of Sevastopol.

Small businesses in the tourism industry have seen a 5% increase in the number of experts they employ, as indicated by last year’s statistics.
