Anton Siluanov, the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, informed the President on March 17 about the impressive dynamics of Crimea and Sevastopol in terms of growth of its own income and fixed capital investments during the meeting on the socioeconomic sittation of two regions. In his opinion, the Crimea and Sevastopol are well ahead of other Russian regions.
According to Siluanov, on average in the country, regional revenues increased by 2.1 times from 2014 to 2022, by 3.6 times in the Republic of Crimea, and exactly by 3 times in Sevastopol.
Fixed capital investments from 2014 to 2022 increased 1.6 times on average across the regions of the Russian Federation, 5 times in Crimea, and 11 times in the city of Sevastopol. This is a good result and it shows that economic activity is developing there," the Finance Minister reported to Vladimir Putin.
The budget commission of Legislative Assembly of the City of Sevastopol, led by Vyacheslav Aksenov, has confirmed a notable growth in the city's own revenues. In a span of eight years, from 2015 to the approved budget of 2023, the city's earnings have skyrocketed from 7.8 billion rubles to 26.4 billion.
In recent years, the region's revenues have grown by about 20% per year. The growth can be attributed to factors like the city's population, significant public investments, and industries that have historically contributed to income, particularly grain transshipment.
